Another diorama comes to life. We build it also for a friend. This is a tribute to the 82nd Airborne, the "Air America". It will be seen a situation after the D-Day, in the bocages.

Hase ruft Butterblume (Hare calls Buttercup)

Another vignette for the series "Historic Based Dioramas" was done. It is called "Hase ruft Butterblume" ("Hare calls Buttercup"). The group has an officer, the radio operator and the man on the dynamo machine. The figures are mounted on an original Morse key (1940).

The Arab house for the British HQ

Here we go... The building will be the HQ of the SAS in Northern Africa. Here you see the first steps...The walls are made from foam cards, the window bars from metal plates. The base is also started, made from plaster.

The walls got the typical look of the Northern African buildings.

The last details on the jeep... Because they are Englishmen I gave them also their teapot. :)
The figures had to be converted, because the originals from Tamiya looked a bit like fat zombies.

Neue Details für den Jeep, noch mehr Ausrüstung und Bewaffnung entsprechend der Vorbild-Fotos... Die Figuren sind bearbeitet und farblich begonnen.

The jeep gets some more details. Some more equipment and weapons like to be seen in the original SAS photos...The figures have been converted and started in the color zone.

Weiter geht es am SAS Jeep. Bewaffnung, Ausrüstung, Detaillierung. Der Jeep soll so aussehen, wie er zu den Sabotage-Einsätzen hinter den Linien des Deutschen Afrikakorps ausgestattet war.

The work with the SAS jeep continues. Armament, equipment, detailing. The jeep will look in such a way, as it was when the men started their actions behind the German DAK lines...

Bevor es am Jeep, den Fahrern, der Bewaffnung und der Ausrüstung weitergeht, wurde die Base in ihrer Größe festgelegt - und durch das Haus auch die Höhe. Wie immer entsteht alles im Eigenbau.

Before it continues with the jeep, the drivers, the armament and the equipment, the base in its size was fixed - and by the house also the height. As usual all the building and basec stuff is scratch built.

Das Bausatzteil für den Kondenswasserbehälter des Kühlers ist zu glatt, hat eine falsche Naht und ist nicht der Beanspruchung entsprechend. So entsteht hier ein neuer.

The kit part for the condenser is too smooth, has a wrong seam and is not accordingly to the desert environment. So a new one has to be scratch built.

Hier entsteht für unseren Freund Karsten eine Vignette mit einem SAS-Jeep.
Grundlage ist der alte TAMIYA kit aus dem Jahre 1972. Dementsprechend mit allerlei Änderungen, Detaillierungen und Umbauten.

Schauplatz ist die Oase Kufra in Nordafrika im Jahre 1942. Major Stirling verabschiedet einen seiner Kommando-Jeeps zu einer neuen Sabotagemission hinter den Linien des Deutschen Afrikakorps.

Here will be built a vignette with a SAS jeep, made for a friend. Basis is the old TAMIYA kit from the year 1972. Accordingly with all kinds of changes, detailing and convertions.

Scene is the oasis Kufra in North Africa in the year 1942. Major Stirling discharges one of his command jeeps to a new sabotage mission behind the lines of the German Africa corps.
